Johnny Ray Murr, Sr.

Johnny Ray Murr, Sr., 72 of Ashland City, TN passed away on Monday, October 1^st, 2018 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. Johnny was born on August 20, 1946 in Denison, TX to the late Horace and Betsy (Gibson) Murr. He retired as a truck driver with Mid-State Industries, and was a United States Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bud Murr; sister, Betty Joe Raines; and grandson, Kevin Hartley. Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Faye Murr; sons, Johnny Ray Murr, Jr., Tony Hartley and Chris Hartley; daughter,Tammy Williams; twin sister, Bonnie Raines; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1101 Lebanon Rd, Nashville, TN 37210 on Friday, October 5^th at 1:00pm. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Johnny be made to the United States Veterans Alliance, P.O. Box 215, Ashland City, TN 37015.
