He is survived by his wife Mary Heath Gupton and brother Neil Mathis. Visitation with the family was held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Boyd Funeral Home from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Boyd Funeral Home at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral expense fund at Boyd Funeral Home.
