Doris "Nita" Upchurch

Doris Juanita "Nita" Upchurch 85, of Ashland City died October 15, 2013. Born on April 24, 1928 in Gallatin, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herbert K. Upchurch, her mother Mary Lee (Burns) Hunter, father James Andrew Hunter, sister Ruth Pruett, brother Wade Hunter and daughter-in-law Jeannette Upchurch. She is survived by sons Michael K. and James R. (Debbie) Upchurch, daughters Mary L. "Vonnie" (R.B.) Biggs, Andrea "Pandy" (Robert) English, five grand children, Benjie Benson, Jennifer, Jodie, Nicholas, and Andrew Upchurch and four great grandchildren, Ivan and Jefferey Benson, Hayden and Kimber Upchurch. Juanita lived with her family on a small farm on Bull Run Road for forty-four years. She was gifted at all kinds of crafts including sewing, knitting and tatting. She loved to read. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family but will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank Alive Hospice and Band of Angels for their tender oversight until the very end. The family will receive visitors at the Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City, TN on Wednesday October 16th from 4-8pm.
