Jesse Staton Poole - 85 of Ashland City passed away on Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center. Staton was born on November 26, 1928 in Ashland City to parents Jesse James and Beatrice (Pardue) Poole. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Annie Louise Poole, sisters Helen Balthrop and Virginia Simpkins. He is survived by son Scotty (Beth) Poole, daughter Pam (Johnny) Jenkins, sisters LaVonn (BW Bernie) Simpkins, Geneva Shaw and Bonnie (Elwin) Pierce. Staton had three grandchildren, Statia Baker, Jessica Poole and Caitlin Poole and two great grandchildren, Jenna Baker and Julia Baker. Special friend to the family Claire Sterling. Staton enjoyed boating, golf and dancing. He was a long standing member of the Ashland City Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. Visitation For Staton Poole will be at the Boyd Funeral Home on Monday February 17th from 12-6pm, followed by a Masonic Service., and visitation on Tuesday from 10-11am. The Funeral Service for Jesse Staton Poole will be in the Chapel of the Boyd Funeral Home on Tuesday February 18, 2014 at 11:00am with Bro. Wayne Bess officiating, burial will follow at the EverRest of Cheatham Memorial Gardens in Pleasant View. Pall Bearers will be Sonny Tillis, Kip Stratton, Steven Stratton, Ronnie Balthrop, Marvis Boyd and Walter Carter. Honorary Bearers will be Frank Stratton, BW Bernie Simpkins, The Ashland City Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Ashland City Free Will Baptist Church.
