Amon B. Major -84

Amon Bishop Major, 84, born February 26, 1930 peacefully crossed in to Eternal Life on September 30, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Priscilla Hunter-Dodd, father Alexander Eugene Major, son Amon R. Major, brother Billy Major, mother- in- law Katherine Hoeppell, father-in-law John Hoeppell. Amon is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Major, sons Rick Major (Karen) and Johnny McGuire, grandchildren Alex Major (Rachel), Max Major, Samantha Major, Knox Major, Jacob McGuire (Kelsey), Jennifer Hope Raines and six great grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later retired after 38 years from Kroger Co. Visitation for Amon Major will be at the Boyd Funeral Home on Wednesday October 1st from 3-7pm and on Thursday from 10-11am. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.
