Vernon 'Mac' McCloud -85

Vernon William ‘Mac’ McCloud, 85 of Ashland City passed away on Saturday March 10th, 2018 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home. Mac was born on September 9, 1932 in Nashville, TN to the late James and Vema (Harvey) McCloud. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousin Kay Harvey and family and his ‘significant other’ Doye Latimer. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, wife Georgia McCloud, brothers Charlie, Arthur, Tommy, Eugene and Bobby McCloud, and sisters Fanny, Lou and Helen. Mac was the quintessential United States Navy career sailor. He served his country with much pride and dedication. After his time in the Navy, Mac worked and later and retired from the Dictaphone Co. Mac liked everyone, and everyone liked Mac. He was always active at the Ashland City Senior Center.    Update: Visitation for Vernon ‘Mac’ McCloud will be at the Boyd Funeral Home 101 Elizabeth St. Ashland City, TN 37015 on Tuesday March 13th from 4:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm. with Dr. Sam Creed officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday morning, where those attending, will meet at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. at 11:00 am.
